In Lithuania, in accordance with the procedure established by law, it is possible to perform an abortion at the request of a woman until the 12nd week of pregnancy, and for medical indications (due to a threat to a woman's life or due to certain diseases of the fetus) up to the 22nd week of pregnancy. The duration of pregnancy is calculated from the first day of the last menstruation, and is adjusted by ultrasonography.
Pregnancy, the duration of which does not reach 6 weeks, can be terminated on an outpatient basis (in a private clinic or polyclinic), a pregnancy lasting 6-12 weeks is terminated in an inpatient (hospital).
